This is Kiss FM and Robbie Vincent has not long welcomed in 1992 (neither has he been on Kiss too long). Why not play all the best tunes from 1991? Why not indeed, and just for the hell of it, let’s also bring into the studio Chris Hill. Bam – there’s no coming back from that kind of punch! Two supremos in the house. This was always going to be one of our uploads so enjoy… soon we will be bringing serious old school business from Robbie Vincent on BBC Radio London so keep an eye on the pages. Oh, and if the page moves, FUNK IT. Best place to read about the man is on Toby’s site here: http://www.soulwalking.co.uk/Robbie%20Vincent.html and for those who would like to check him out today then visit his radio show on Jazz FM here: http://www.jazzfm.com/on-air/shows/robbie-vincent/

Frankie "Hollywood" Crocker and the whole Studio 54 discothèque in New York were legendary. WBLS-FM Chief Rocker joins Tim Westwood & Pete Tong in London on Capitol Radio. Guests on this show were Neneh Cherry, Will Downing, Jazzie B and Chaka Khan. What a stunning piece of broadcasting and linked too via satellite to NY. So who’s the real legend here? Well, we went into the Tim Westwood archive looking for something special and got smacked in the face with this monster collaboration, so Frankie just had to be showcased. Have your sense of humour with you when you listen to this one; there are a few cringy moments with the ladies. Very entertaining.

Dr. Bob Jones kicked his DJ career off in 1967 and regularly fires up the burners up and down the country when not soul searching in Bognor Regis. The Surgery Radio Show with Bob Jones will go down in the record books as a momentous period in radio and we at ukvibe.org have offered up a classic show with none other than Isaac Hayes in the studio. 11th June 1995 London England. We just couldn't resist uploading this one. http://www.myspace.com/drbob06

Legends of the Airwaves - Tony Monson

There is a long list of radio stations Tony Monson has waved his wand over from as far back as the early 60s. Probably more remembered in the Midlands and North for his record distribution company Disc Empire bringing many a vinyl gem to our local independent record shops, particularly when it came to Japanese Jazz, but the real wonders were experienced in the South via Kiss FM, Solar and Invicta. We really could dedicate a whole page to Mr. Monson but sadly our intentions are purely to give you a taster from a bygone era.
For those of you whom need a regular fix then Tony can still be found on his very own Solar Radio station via the net and Sky TV. Let’s just hope our offering does this music spinning wizard justice. Respect for keeping the Solar burners fired up.
